PEP Services for HIV
PEP, or post-exposure prophylaxis, is another biomedical prevention strategy to prevent an HIV infection. If you’ve been exposed to HIV, time is essential. PEP must be started within 72 hours after recent possible exposure to HIV. If prescribed PEP, you’ll need to take it for 28 days. If you feel you need PEP, call or text our PEP/PrEP hotline at 754-444-2584 to speak with us, or visit an urgent care center or an emergency room near you as soon as possible.
PrEP and PEP Cost
Care Resource is dedicated to ensuring that PrEP and PEP are both accessible and affordable for all individuals. Prescription costs may vary based on your insurance coverage, but if you are uninsured, we offer support. Through vouchers, assistance programs, and a sliding-fee scale for medical services, we work to eliminate financial barriers, making your health our priority.

DoxyPEP Services for STI Prevention
Doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis (DoxyPEP) is a preventative treatment that can reduce the risk of acquiring certain STIs. This treatment involves taking a course of doxycycline antibiotics within 72 hours of potential exposure to an STI. According to a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded study, DoxyPEP has been shown to be more than 60% effective in reducing the transmission of STIs such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis.
