The SPOT™ Mobile Medical Clinic delivers healthcare, prevention services, harm reduction resources, and community outreach directly to individuals who may face barriers to accessing traditional healthcare settings. By meeting people where they are, The SPOT helps connect underserved communities to care, improve health outcomes, and reduce preventable health risks.
Harm Reduction & Overdose Prevention
The SPOT operates Broward County’s only Syringe Services Program (SSP), providing harm reduction services designed to reduce the spread of HIV, Hepatitis C, and other infectious diseases while promoting safer practices and improving community health.
The program also distributes Narcan® (naloxone), an overdose reversal medication that helps save lives and prevent opioid-related deaths.
Connecting People to Care
The SPOT serves as a bridge between the community and the healthcare system. Through consistent outreach and relationship building, team members help connect individuals living with substance use disorders to medical care, behavioral health services, substance use treatment programs, and other supportive resources.
Prevention, Education & Community Outreach
In addition to harm reduction services, The SPOT provides health education, prevention resources, and proactive health interventions that help reduce emergency room visits and improve overall well-being. Services may include wound care, health screenings, referrals, and connections to ongoing care and support services.
Improving Community Health
By maintaining a strong presence within the community, The SPOT helps identify emerging health concerns, service gaps, and drug use trends. These insights support public health efforts, improve service delivery, and help create safer, healthier communities throughout Broward County.
