About The SPOT
The SPOT (Special Purpose Outreach Team) is a mobile health and outreach program operated by Care Resource Community Health Centers. Serving communities throughout Broward County, The SPOT connects individuals to healthcare, prevention services, harm reduction resources, behavioral health support, and other vital community-based services.
As Broward County’s authorized syringe services program under the Florida Infectious Disease Elimination Act (IDEA), The SPOT helps reduce the transmission of HIV and Hepatitis C, prevent overdose deaths, safely collect used syringes, and connect participants with medical care, treatment, and supportive services. The program also provides outreach, education, testing, referrals, and linkage to care for individuals who may face barriers accessing traditional healthcare settings.
Today, The SPOT continues to serve as an innovative public health resource, bringing healthcare directly into the communities that need it most.
