Prepare for BACK-TO-SCHOOL During National Immunization Awareness Month

National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is an annual observance held in August to emphasize the significance of routine vaccination for people of all ages. It serves as a reminder to ensure that children and adults are up to date on their vaccines to protect themselves and others from preventable diseases.

For parents, ensuring their children receive all necessary vaccinations on time are crucial for their long-term health, as well as the health of their peers and community members. Unvaccinated children can unknowingly spread diseases to those who are too young or have weakened immune systems, potentially leading to severe complications or even fatalities.

As the back-to-school season approaches, it is important to include a visit to the pediatrician on the checklist. Care Resource, a community health center in South Florida, offers pediatric services staffed with board-certified professionals who provide high-quality care for children. Their comprehensive services range from well-childcare and routine health screenings to immunizations and adolescent care.

To further promote awareness and accessibility to vaccines, Care Resource’s outreach team will be present at Kiddos Magazine’s Annual Back to School and 10th-Anniversary event on August 5, 2023, at CityPlace Doral (8300 NW 36th St., Doral, FL 33166). This event serves as a valuable opportunity for parents to learn more about the importance of vaccinations and ensure their children receive the necessary immunizations.

Care Resource will also be providing access to vaccination and providing back-to-school supplies at the Angels for Humanity Health Fair providing access to care to over 300 children from 1st to 5th grade. The event will be held at Earlington Heights Elementary on Friday, July 21, 2023, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm.

By prioritizing vaccinations and partnering with trusted healthcare providers like Care Resource, families can contribute to the well-being of their children and communities. National Immunization Awareness Month serves as a timely reminder to stay proactive in safeguarding our health through routine immunizations.
