Responsive Funding During Times of Need
Care Resource Community Health Centers, Inc. was awarded a $15,000 general operating support grant from “The LGBTQ+ Equity Fund.” This grant is made possible by The Miami Foundation, Our Fund, and The National LGBTQ Task Force to bring together donors with a mission to support and strengthen South Florida’s LGBTQ+ community with a specific focus on responsive funding in times of need.
The recipients of such grants are leaders who work to expand safe spaces for LGBTQ+ youth, ensure continuous access to gender affirming care for transgender individuals, and help amplify the voice and power of the LGBTQ+ community.
According to Lindsey Linzer, Vice President of Community Investments with the Miami Foundation, “We stand in awe of the LGBTQ+ equity work that Care Resource is leading in the field of health in South Florida. It’s an honor to support the work of Care Resource to provide essential health services and treatments to communities in need.”
Care Resource is proud to be a leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality and proud of its historic commitment to provide services that are sensitive to the needs of the LGBTQ+ communities. Since the health center’s founding 40 years ago, Care Resource’s services have promoted awareness, provided support for physical and mental health, and have been delivered with a supportive and culturally sensitive environment.
Care Resource is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization and a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with four (4) facilities in Midtown Miami, Little Havana, Miami Beach, and Fort Lauderdale. The health centers provide comprehensive health and support services to address the full health care needs of our pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations.
