A Groundbreaking Gift: MacKenzie Scott’s $9 Million Investment in Care Resource

This landmark donation is a powerful endorsement of our mission to provide comprehensive primary care, preventive services, and critical support to South Florida’s most underserved communities.
This generous gift plays a pivotal role in fueling our expansion and deepening our impact, ensuring that we can continue to meet the growing healthcare needs of our community.
Honoring Dr. Peter B. Cinelli: Transforming Behavioral Health in Broward County
Dr. Peter B. Cinelli’s generosity has paved the way for the relocation and expansion of our Broward County Behavioral Health Services. This new center will bear his name as a tribute to his extraordinary legacy gift.
Dr. Cinelli, who passed away this year, dedicated much of his philanthropy to ensuring access to vital behavioral health services for the Broward County community.
He also funded the establishment of The SPOT Mobile Medical Clinic, an integral part of our Behavioral Health Services.
Dr. Cinelli’s unwavering generosity and compassion have been a lifeline to those most in need. –Dr. Thomas Smith, Director of Behavioral Health Services
Set to open by the end of 2025, the expanded center will triple the number of patients it can serve to 3,000 annually and will play a vital role in combating the opioid crisis and fostering recovery throughout Broward County. Funding is being sought to complete the renovation and fully realize the center’s impact.
Dr. Cinelli’s visionary gift ensures that his passion for helping others continues to impact the community, offering hope and transformative care to those in need.
A Legacy of Compassion: Joy Fishman and the Fight Against the Opioid Crisis
We are deeply grateful to Joy Fishman and the Fishman Family Foundation for their continued generous support this year for The SPOT Mobile Medical Clinic, a key component of our Broward Behavioral Health program.
Joy’s generosity ensures we can continue providing naloxone (Narcan), sterile needles, and critical medical care to those in need, despite federal funding restrictions.
Joy’s personal commitment to The SPOT, fueled by the loss of her son to an overdose, continues to energize our efforts to address the opioid crisis and provide essential harm reduction programs to vulnerable populations.
Expanding Hope: Our New Little Havana Health Center to Triple Community Impact
Since 2014, our Little Havana Health Center has been a vital lifeline for a predominantly low-income, immigrant community.
To meet the growing demand for care, we’re expanding to a larger facility opening in early 2025. This expansion will triple our capacity, allowing us to serve nearly 20,000 individuals and families each year.
The new center will offer comprehensive services—including medical, dental, behavioral health, case management, food pantry and a new in-house pharmacy—all under one roof, ensuring more access to care for the community. To maximize the full impact of this expansion, we are seeking an additional $2 million to complete key components of the project. Learn more

Give Miami Day Raises $20,000+ to Combat Food Insecurity, Homelessness, and More
Thanks to the incredible generosity of Care Resource employees, who contributed over $10,000 in matching gifts, and the support of our community, Give Miami Day raised $20,000+ for our Emergency Assistance Fund.
These vital funds are essential in addressing the growing challenges of food insecurity, homelessness, and transportation barriers—critical issues that prevent many of our patients from accessing the healthcare they need.
One-third of our patient visits are directly impacted by these struggles. The Give Miami Day campaign addresses a vital need and directly supports individuals and families facing these harsh realities.
