Biography
Steven Santiago received his Bachelor of Science degree from City College in New York. He later earned his MD from the State University of New York at Stony Brook Medical School.
Following medical school, he completed a Family Practice residency at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
He became Board-Certified in Family Practice in 1994. In 1998, he earned Fellowship status with the American Academy of Family Physicians.
At Care Resource, Dr. Santiago directed the research program and served as principal investigator for numerous pharmaceutical and government-sponsored HIV-related clinical trials.
From 2003 to 2014, Dr. Santiago served as Medical Director. Since 2014, however, he has served as Chief Medical Officer.
Additionally, Dr. Santiago has been an active member of the HIV education community. He frequently speaks to patient groups, physicians, and allied health professionals about HIV care, prevention, and treatment.
Research and Publications
Dr. Santiago continues to contribute to research that advances HIV care and supports evidence-based treatment approaches. His recent work includes national studies examining treatment outcomes, long-term health, and factors that affect the well-being of people living with HIV.
