Sonja Smith is an accomplished sales leader, technology strategist, and community advocate with a proven ability to drive innovation and growth across industries. For over 15 years, Sonja has served on the Care Resource Board of Directors, dedicating her expertise to advancing the organization’s mission of equitable healthcare access.
Her commitment is deeply personal, inspired by her uncle’s 30-year journey as an HIV-positive individual. Witnessing the life-changing impact of Care Resource’s programs on his health and quality of life motivates her to work toward a future where everyone in the community has access to healthcare, no child is left without care and sees a future where zero new HIV infections are achieved.
Currently at Trimble Inc., Sonja specializes in delivering cloud-based supply chain solutions that enhance visibility, collaboration, and efficiency. Her expertise in aligning technology with organizational goals has consistently driven measurable cost savings, productivity gains, and operational improvements.
Her career includes leadership roles at AT&T, FleetCor Technologies, BlackBerry, and Fotopia, where she excelled in enterprise sales, digital strategy, and customer relationship management.
A Communications graduate of Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Sonja frequently shares her knowledge as a guest speaker, inspiring students to leverage communication tools for success. She has also served as an industry panelist, offering expertise on innovation, customer engagement, and collaboration strategies.
Her leadership philosophy is shaped by her service as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, where she honed skills in logistics, supply chain management, and disciplined decision-making. These experiences inform her results-oriented approach to governance, strategy, and innovation at Care Resource.
