Biography

Shannon Riley is a passionate and dedicated Peer Specialist who has transformed her lived experience into a powerful force for change in the recovery community.

With an unwavering commitment to self-advocacy, empowerment, and wellness, she provides vital support to individuals navigating their own recovery journeys.

Holding multiple certifications, including Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS), SMART Recovery, Mental Health First Aid for Youth and Adults (MHFAY/MHFA), Emotional CPR (ECPR), WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan), Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, and Addiction Intervention, Shannon brings a wealth of expertise to her work. She leverages these skills to foster resilience, encourage self-determination, and create pathways for lasting recovery.

Her exceptional dedication and impact were recognized in 2023 when she was honored as Recovery Paraprofessional of the Year, a testament to her outstanding contributions to the community.

Shannon is a tireless advocate for the underserved, working to break down the stigmas and systemic barriers surrounding mental health and substance use.

Through education, outreach, and direct support, she fosters understanding, compassion, and meaningful change.

In addition to her work in recovery, Shannon is deeply committed to supporting survivors of domestic violence.

She plays a crucial role in breaking the stigma surrounding domestic abuse and works tirelessly to create safe, supportive, and empowering spaces where survivors can share their stories without fear or judgment.

With her empathetic and trauma-informed approach, she helps individuals reclaim their voices, regain their sense of self-worth, and take meaningful steps toward healing.
