Fulfilling our Mission and Having a Positive Impact on our Community
Care Resource received two awards from TESTMiami’s Symposium and Award Ceremony hosted by the Miami-Dade County Health Department on December 11th.
The first award received was the “Outstanding PrEP Agency Award 2017.” Care Resource is a leading provider for Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), an effective prevention strategy aiming to reduce HIV acquisition risk by 92% if taken as prescribed. It is part of the comprehensive prevention plan that includes adherence and prevention counseling, HIV risk behavior counseling, HIV prevention education, and the provision of condoms.
The second award received was the “Exceptional Performance in HIV Testing as a Large Site 2017” award. Care Resource conducts over 8,000 HIV tests per year in communities at high risk for HIV. Individuals newly diagnosed for HIV are explained the health benefits of early treatment and offered immediate navigation, linkage coordination and case management services aiming to link and retain them into medical care. Previously diagnosed individuals are reengaged into care in less than 30 days with the goal of achieving viral suppression, improve health outcomes and reduce the risks of transmission.
These TestMiami awards reflect Care Resource’s excellence in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention as it works to fulfill its mission to improve health outcomes for our diverse Miami-Dade communities in need.
