Postponement of Our 32nd Annual AIDS Walk Miami

Redirecting Resources in Response to COVID-19

Miami, FL – When COVID-19 began to present itself as a risk in our communities, Care Resource providers and staff chose to prioritize the health of our community. In the interest of protecting the health of our patients, volunteers, and supporters, we have chosen to postpone the 32nd annual AIDS Walk Miami, originally scheduled for May 3, 2020, in Miami Beach.

AIDS Walk Miami will be rescheduled to the earliest possible date, provided that the safety of our supporters will not be compromised. We have incorporated measures to protect against COVID-19 transmission in all of our health centers, bolstering our efforts to continue our fight against HIV/AIDS. In response to the virus, we have created nPEP and PrEP hotlines, providing a real-time response to essential HIV prevention and treatment methods. As we face COVID-19, we are aware that we cannot neglect the continuous needs of our patients and clients, especially those disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS, as it increases vulnerability to COVID-19. We are dedicated to ensuring access to our quality services without disrupting the continuum of healthcare.

Now more than ever, we ask for your support. Continue to donate and fundraise for AIDS Walk Miami online so that we can ensure our services to patients in need during this challenging time.

We remain committed to taking swift and appropriate action in the service of those who need us. While we lament the postponement of this event, we know that it is in the best interest of our community. We look forward to the rescheduled Walk, never losing sight of the goal that guides and invigorates us: ending HIV together.
