April is National Minority Health Month. During this time and throughout the year, Care Resource continues to further decrease health disparities in all under-resourced communities by removing barriers and improving overall health outcomes.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), disparities in health outcomes persist across racial and ethnic lines. High blood pressure and diabetes for instance may be more prevalent among African Americans than other minority groups.
“Care Resource promotes health equity in many ways including the use of our sliding fee discount scale which allows significant discounts for all services based on income and family size. The sliding fee scale makes it possible for Care Resource to deliver quality award-winning service and positive health outcomes to all South Florida communities.” – Director of Medical Care Services, Douglas Steele
Care Resource’s affordable and inclusive healthcare services play a pivotal role in making the difference. The health center is committed to providing compassionate and competent care with a wide range of essential services tailored to meet the diverse needs of all minority communities. The health center also offers off-site services to those who qualify though remote care options and our mobile health units.
