Expanding HIV Prevention Services
South Florida remains one of the areas most heavily impacted by HIV in the United States. Through Project HIMPACT, Care Resource is building upon its longstanding commitment to HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and support services throughout the region.
The program aligns with the goals of the federal Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative. It helps individuals access HIV testing, prevention services, medical care, and treatment. Additionally, the program supports long-term engagement in healthcare and improves access to essential community resources.
Addressing Barriers to Care
Project HIMPACT expands on Care Resource’s existing HIV programs. The initiative uses evidence-based prevention strategies to reach individuals at increased risk for HIV and support those currently living with the virus.
In addition, the program addresses social and economic barriers that can make healthcare difficult to access. These barriers may include housing instability, behavioral health challenges, and unemployment. By addressing these factors, Care Resource helps individuals stay connected to care and treatment services.
