Linking Patients to Consistent Care During this Pandemic
During this unprecedented health crisis Care Resource remains committed to the mission and purpose that has guided us for more than 35 years: providing compassionate and quality healthcare for all, regardless of ability to pay. In compliance with the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for social distancing, the health center broadened its emergency response by developing a COVID-19 Response Plan to further serve patients and reduce the transmission of COVID-19 transmission.
The health center has expanded access to care via telehealth services, new telephone hotlines, and at-home HIV testing. In addition to COVID-19, we remain vigilant in our fight against HIV/AIDS. We continue to offer services for PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) and PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) to the community.
We’ve implemented specific hotlines so individuals can connect with our navigators directly to discuss their options, and learn more about our telehealth medical services. If needed, Care Resource can assist with emergency transportation to our centers with rides offered via Uber Health.

Additionally, individuals in Broward and Miami-Dade counties who have not tested positive for HIV or tested in the past three months can still access HIV testing via our at-home testing program. After testing in the privacy and comfort of their own home, individuals will receive support from Care Resource staff.
These tools enable the health center to remain on the front line against COVID-19 and HIV/AIDS, prioritizing wellness and access to essential care.
