For five years, The Health Connection connected South Florida communities with trusted health information, expert insights, and conversations focused on improving health and wellness.
Through discussions with healthcare providers, behavioral health specialists, community leaders, and partner organizations, the series explored topics ranging from HIV prevention and treatment to behavioral health, chronic disease management, wellness, and healthcare access. The goal was simple: empower individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed decisions about their health.
By expanding access to reliable health information, The Health Connection helped strengthen health literacy throughout the community and encouraged meaningful dialogue about the issues that affect everyday well-being. Each episode reflected Care Resource’s commitment to education, prevention, and improving access to care for all.
A Legacy of Community Health Education
From 2017 through 2022, The Health Connection served as Care Resource’s signature health education series, bringing together healthcare professionals, community partners, advocates, and subject matter experts to address important public health issues.
Over the course of the series, viewers learned about HIV prevention, behavioral health, wellness, preventive care, healthcare navigation, and the social factors that influence health outcomes. The program showcased the power of education as a tool for improving individual and community health while highlighting the many organizations and professionals working to strengthen South Florida’s healthcare landscape.
Although new episodes are no longer being produced, the series remains a valuable educational resource and reflects Care Resource’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and health education.
