Biography
Dr. Sheryl Zayas is a Chicago native with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
Sheryl attended medical school at Nova Southeastern University and received a medical degree in Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in Family Practice at the Lake Eric College of Osteopathic Medicine in Miami, Florida where she served as Chief Resident.
She is a Board Certified Family Physician. Dr. Zayas is the Medical Director at Care Resource, a Federally Qualified Health Center offering services to underserved communities, with an LGBTQA focus. Special projects include creating a medical home for the Trans Community and Medical Assisted Treatment for substance use disorder.
In 2014, Dr. Zayas received the Trans Equality Award presented by The Pride Center in Fort Lauderdale.
