MIAMI, FL. (January 2019) – The Florida Association of Community Health Centers (FACHC) determined that the overall estimated economic impact of Care Resource Community Health Centers in 2018 was $100.0 million. There is an additional return on investment of $0.73 for each $1.00 invested in Care Resource.
FACHC’s economic impact report also states that the health centers in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties provided 44,700 visits to 13,000 unduplicated patients in 2018 and that the health center continues to serve as a valuable employer, accounting for 514 jobs. This includes the 209 positions at the health center (direct jobs). The health center also contributes to 304 additional indirect/induced jobs as a result of the re-spending of monies throughout the community, at large.
Care Resource continues to make a positive economic impact on South Florida’s economy and take health care far beyond its usual definition. The Health Center provides comprehensive preventive services and screenings, and a range of social support services to address the needs of the community’s pediatric, adolescent and adult populations with approaches that attend to the whole health needs of patients – both physical and psycho-social.
