The funding helped Care Resource increase access to virtual care while enhancing safety measures for patients and healthcare workers.

The grant enabled Care Resource to provide medical care through telehealth platforms for patients experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or following quarantine guidelines. By increasing access to virtual visits, the organization reduced the need for in-person appointments during a critical period of the public health emergency.

The funding also supported technology investments, infrastructure improvements, and additional safety protocols across Care Resource health centers. These enhancements helped ensure continuity of care while protecting patients and staff during the pandemic.

At the time of the award, a Care Resource spokesperson stated:

“Telehealth has become a vital tool in our fight against COVID-19. This HRSA funding ensures we can continue to deliver care while keeping patients and staff safe.”

The grant was part of a broader federal initiative to help community health centers respond to the challenges created by COVID-19. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Care Resource used the funding to continue delivering healthcare services to communities across South Florida.

In addition to supporting telehealth services, the funding helped expand COVID-19 testing, treatment, patient education, and other essential healthcare services during the pandemic. Care Resource also continued providing primary care, behavioral health services, and supportive programs to meet community needs.

This investment represented an important milestone in Care Resource’s efforts to maintain access to quality healthcare and respond to the evolving needs of South Florida residents during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
