The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has awarded Care Resource funding to expand access to substance use disorder and mental health services. These funds will support the health center in implementing and advancing evidence-based strategies, including expanded medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services.
Care Resource has become a gateway to integrated care for individuals with substance use disorder (SUD) and primary care needs. This investment by HRSA in substance use disorder and mental health services will significantly increase the capacity of the health center by adding staffing, supplies, and equipment necessary to increase the ability to combat one of the country’s greatest current health crises – opioid overuse and dependency.
Moreover, the funding will aid in renovating the building adjacent to Care Resource’s office in Fort Lauderdale located on 871 West Oakland Park Boulevard and transform it into an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) – so as to provide services during the evening and on weekends.
“This funding by HRSA is a testament to Care Resource’s unique position in making a significant impact in combatting the opioid crisis. This new funding will further that impact. Our Compassionate, Competent and Committed team of Licensed Behavioral Health specialists are available and ready to provide support and high-quality treatment for improved and efficient daily functioning for each of our clients.” – Thomas Smith, Ph.D., LMHC, LMFT, MCAP, Director of Behavioral Health Services
