Care Resource staff and Board Members participated in a round-table discussion with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Deputy Secretary Eric Hargan, Acting HRSA Administrator Thomas J. Engels, Associate Deputy Secretary Charles N. Keckler, and Associate Administrator for the Bureau of Primary Health Care, James Macrae to celebrate 2019 National Health Center Week – a week that raises awareness of the needs that exist in our communities regarding primary care and preventive health, and to speak about innovative solutions to the most pressing health care issues in South Florida.
The roundtable included discussions about the Department of Health and Human Service’s plan to end HIV in the U.S., substance use disorder and mental health services, access to medication for those newly diagnosed with HIV or returning to care, and more. Round table discussions like this ensure that there is a collaboration by all stakeholders at Federal, State, and local levels so that the best care can be provided to patients.
