Chris Carbonera received his Masters of Trauma-Informed Clinical Social Work from Barry University with a concentration in the mind and body connection as well as advanced clinical interventions for behavioral health.
He also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Languages from the University of Puerto Rico. Chris is passionate about mental health and believes that it is his calling to a life of service to others to help alleviate human suffering, one individual at a time.
His experience includes helping individuals with the treatment of anxiety, abuse, anger management, bipolar disorder, gender dysphoria, depression, LGBTQIA issues, grief/loss, trauma, panic attacks, HIV, behavioral problems, personality disorder, self-esteem, stress management, substance use and other addictions, and relapse prevention and recovery. Chris also has experience working in private practice providing therapy to a diverse client base.
Chris utilizes an integrative approach to psychotherapy, combining evidenced-based techniques of trauma-informed care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and Buddhist Psychology to meet the individual treatment goals of his clients. He is also fluent in Spanish.
