ACA Open Enrollment 2018

2018 aca open enrollment

Helping South Florida Choose Health Insurance that Best Meets their Needs

As of November 1, one can enroll in or change their 2018 Marketplace health insurance.

The 2018 Affordable Care Act (ACA) Open Enrollment Period began on November 1 and will continue until December 15. Open enrollment is the window during which eligible individuals can enroll in a group health insurance plan or change their existing coverage.

This is a shorter enrollment period than previous years, so it is important to act quickly. If you do not act by December 15, one cannot receive 2018 coverage unless they qualify for a Special Enrollment Period that begins December 16, 2017.

To understand the options for coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or for help in signing up for a plan, please contact 305.576.1234 and make an appointment. One can to receive assistance from one of Care Resource’s trained “navigators” at the health centers located on the second floor of 3801 Biscayne Blvd Midtown office, third floor of 1901 S.W. 1st Street in Little Havana and on 871 West Oakland Park Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.

Those that need Marketplace health insurance coverage includes anyone that doesn’t have coverage through a job, Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP), or other qualifying coverage. If uncovered, one may pay a fee. Depending on income, one may even qualify for an insurance plan with tax credits, or for Medicaid/CHIP. All plans cover essential health benefits, pre-existing conditions, and preventive services.

According to Marcos Rivero, Senior Case Manager and Certified Application Counselor with Care Resource, “At Care Resource, our trained navigators help the community to find the best coverage that fits their budget while meeting their medical needs.”
