During World Immunization Week, Care Resource serves a pivotal role in providing accessible vaccinations and essential healthcare services. This year, we encourage individuals to consult with our health center’s medical providers about the vaccines suitable for their age, health conditions, occupation, or lifestyle, including COVID-19, Mpox (aka. Monkeypox), measles, shingles, influenza, HPV, and others for which they may be at risk.
“Vaccination is a cornerstone of modern medicine, offering protection against infectious diseases. It’s not just a shot; it’s protection for individuals and communities alike. By boosting our immune systems, vaccines help us fight off harmful pathogens, keeping everyone safer and healthier—it’s our first step in building healthier communities.” – Steven Santiago, MD, Chief Medical Officer.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of April 2024, there has been a decrease in COVID-19 and flu cases, largely due to widespread vaccination efforts and improved healthcare access. The administration of vaccines has strengthened community immunity, curbing the transmission of these illnesses.
Care Resource continues to offer COVID-19 vaccination. For individuals aged 12 and above, we offer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines, and for those 18 and older, we also offer Johnson & Johnson, all provided at no cost, ensuring equitable access to life-saving protection.
In response to the growing number of reported Mpox cases, the health center has expanded services to include testing, treatment (TPOXX), and vaccinations (JYNNEOS), reducing cases in South Florida and addressing evolving health concerns.
Care Resource’s commitment remains steadfast in providing accessible, affordable, and essential healthcare services and vaccinations.
