Every year in the U.S., nearly 19 million new sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are reported, with young people ages 15-24 accounting for almost half of those cases. To address this ongoing health challenge, Care Resource continues to promote safe sex practices, empowering individuals to take control of their health by encouraging the use of condoms.

Why National Condom Week Matters
National Condom Week, observed annually, highlights the importance of one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect your sexual health—using condoms.

Not only do condoms prevent unintended pregnancies, but they also significantly reduce the transmission of STIs.

With increasing rates of infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis, especially among young people, the need for widespread education and access to protection has never been greater.

The beginning of National Condom Week aligns with Valentine’s Day, a celebration of love. What better time to remember that love includes looking after your sexual health?

The best way to show you care is by using condoms to protect yourself and your partner, ensuring a healthier and happier relationship.

Sexually transmitted infections remain a significant public health issue in the U.S., with the country having the highest rates of STIs in the industrialized world.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports alarming increases in infections like syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia, warning that STIs cost the U.S. healthcare system approximately $16 billion each year.

The good news is that STIs are preventable with proper condom use.
