Vanessa Rojas, MD, Primary Care Physician

Biography

Dr. Vanessa Rojas is a New York City native. She was born and raised in Queens, NY.

Vanessa attained her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and decided to pursue her Family Medicine Residency training at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. Subsequently, she decided to pursue a fellowship in HIV Medicine thereby completing the HIV Clinical Fellowship Program as part of the HIV Medical Association, a sub-branch of the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA).

Throughout that fellowship, she had the opportunity to work in several organizations in the New York City Tri-state area where she thereby enriched her learning and experience in HIV medicine. She is also credentialed as an HIV Specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine.

Due to her enthusiasm working with the underserved, Dr. Rojas has completed medical health missions to locations such Louisiana (after Hurricane Katrina), Appalachia, and Guatemala in her efforts towards providing medical care for all.

She also enjoys the intersection between primary care and HIV medicine thereby allowing patients living with HIV to live a long healthy life. Due to her experience at Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center, she also gained a great deal of experience working with pregnant woman living with HIV thereby working toward achieving the WHO goal of no baby being born with HIV.

Dr. Rojas enjoys travelling, working out, spending time with her dog Twix, and her family.
