Originally from Santiago, Chile, Macarena Gomez-Balbontin brings over 25 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with a strong focus on Federal Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). With more than 10 years of expertise within the FQHC industry, Macarena has developed a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape, and the financial intricacies involved in delivering quality healthcare services.
Since joining Care Resource in late 2018, Macarena has served as the Medical Care Services Manager at the Little Havana location, and then as Interdepartmental Operations Manager. A key achievement has been the successful restructuring of the Sliding Fee Discount Program, ensuring its full compliance with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) requirements.
Additionally, Macarena has played a crucial role in improving billing practices and ensuring that all services meet the standards set forth by regulatory agencies, thereby enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the healthcare delivery process.
