Biography
Hudes has been the health center’s Associate Chief of Grants since January 2025. As such, he provides guidance on all issues related to grants and contracts while furthering the organization’s overall mission. Hudes joined Care Resource in 2004 after a 14-year tenure at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
Before occupying this new VP role, Hudes was Prevention Services Manager for 5 years, Grants and Program Development Manager for another 5, Director of Grants, Pharmacy, and Credentialing for 5 years, and, until recently, Chief Development Officer.
Hudes’s long tenure at Care Resource corresponds to a period that has seen the emergence of Care Resource as a major health center in Florida and the nation. Care Resource is among the top 1% in HIV care and treatment and the top 10% in clinical performance measures among the estimated 1,400 Federally Qualified Health Centers in the nation. Hudes is proud to have played a key role in achieving those milestones.
As he has spent his entire professional career in HIV and primary care, his central goal is to see the end of the HIV epidemic in the U.S. and elsewhere in a matter of years, not decades.
Hudes’s past experiences include working in the Obstetrics department at the University of Miami School of Medicine from 1990 to 2004. He is particularly proud of the fact that his team of case managers played a key role in the landmark ACTG 076 research study, which successfully addressed HIV perinatal transmission from mother to infant.
Hudes is also involved in his community’s affairs and is currently the president of the Haitian American Democratic Club of Miami-Dade County.
Hudes holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s in public health (Epidemiology and Biostatistics) from the University of Miami School of Medicine.
