PrEP at Home by Care ResourceOgmante aksè a prevansyon VIH enpòtan pou diminye kantite nouvo dyagnostik VIH nan kominote nou yo ki pa gen anpil resous. Kominote Nwa ak Latino kontinye wè yon kantite disproporsyone nouvo enfeksyon ak lanmò ki gen rapò ak VIH. Nou dwe asire ke kominote sa yo gen aksè ekitab nan tès VIH, prevansyon, ak tretman.

This new program gives patients the opportunity to consult online with Care Resource medical providers, complete all required lab testing at home, and have their medication delivered to their door – all without needing to visit a lab or health center.

Those who qualify will receive an at-home lab testing kit along with simple instructions on how to collect and return their samples. After the samples are received, they are processed by Binx, Care Resource’s trusted laboratory partner. Binx is a state-of-the-art lab that specializes in complex molecular testing and is CAP-accredited.

When the results are ready, patients will meet with a Care Resource provider virtually to discuss if PrEP is right for them. In some cases, the medical provider may require additional comprehensive in-person testing depending on their patient’s health history. If the patient is eligible for PrEP, their prescription will be sent electronically to a pharmacy and their medication will be delivered directly to the patient.

Prep@Home is available to adults 18 years and older who are currently not living with HIV. Regardless of insurance status, patients will have little or no out-of-pocket costs, and Care Resource’s PrEP Navigators will assist patients in qualifying for patient assistance programs, which can reduce or eliminate the cost of medication.

Care Resource is focused on ending the HIV epidemic through ensuring equitable access to HIV testing, prevention, and treatment. PrEP@Home makes it easy, convenient, and affordable to start and maintain HIV prevention. We are committed to further developing strategies and programs that benefit the overall health of our diverse South Florida communities.
