Biography
Ms. Alvarado is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and she received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a major in Substance Abuse from Nova Southeastern University.
She has over 10 years’ experience working with adults, elderly, adolescents and children. She has worked in Broward County Schools and home visits as an outpatient therapist.
In addition, Ethel has worked as a crisis and referral counselor for a local non-profit agency. Her experience includes helping individuals and families with the treatment of Anxiety, Abuse, Anger Management, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Grief/Loss, Medical Issues, Panic Attacks, Behavioral Problems, Self Esteem, Stress Management, Addictions; Relapse Prevention and Recovery, and Gender Dysphoria.
Ethel earned a certificate from the International Transgender Certification Association and has the title of Board Certified Transgender Care Therapist and has completed training and certificates in HIV 500 and 501; ARTAS case management, CLEAR Intervention, and Healthy Relationships.
Ethel is also fluent in both English and Spanish.
