Curtis Barnes, DMD, Dentist

Biography

Curtis Barnes was born February 20, 1960, in a small town in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He was raised on a farm and grew up learning to do most everything involved with country life. He was active in sports and music during his middle and high school years.

In 1982, Curtis received his Bachelor Arts degree from Ithaca College majoring in Chemistry and minoring in German. He went on to receive a Thesis Masters Degree in Chemistry from the University of Florida and an M.B.A. Degree from New York University Stern School of Business. Before attending the University of Florida College of Dental Medicine in 1990, he worked in the areas of chemical research, banking, marketing & pharmaceutical sales. He received his D.M.D. degree in 1994 and began employment with the Broward County Health Department as a Dentist.

During his 15 years with the Broward County Health Department, he was extensively involved with the treatment of children and adults suffering from HIV and AIDS and became the Assistant Director of HIV Dental Services.

In 2009, Dr. Barnes was recruited by Nova Southeastern University to oversee their HIV Dental Services at their Oakland Park, FL. location. In addition to treating patients and overseeing clinic operations, he was responsible for helping educate hundreds of dental students in the treatment & management of patients suffering from HIV and AIDS.

Dr. Barnes enjoys helping patients and loves his life as a Dentist.
