Delta Dental Community Care Foundation Awards Care Resource $20,000 to Fight COVID-19
Delta Dental Community Care Foundation has generously contributed $20,000 to Care Resource in support of the emergency needs of our most vulnerable patients and clients in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties during the COVID-19 crisis. This funding will seed our newly established Emergency Assistance Fund, which gives direct assistance to medically underserved and uninsured individuals and families across South Florida.
“The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation seeks to build caring, resilient communities across our entire service area of 15 states and the District of Columbia, and we want to ensure that our funding has an impact”, said Kenzie Ferguson, Vice President of Foundation and corporate social responsibility for Delta Dental of California. “Care Resource is providing vital services to individuals who need them most, and we are proud to partner with them and help them carry out this important and impactful work.”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, our Emergency Assistance Fund is providing food vouchers for all in need, urgent housing assistance (mortgages, rents, or utilities payments), telehealth services, and COVID-19 testing for uninsured and/or unemployed patients.
“Many of our clients are at risk of losing their homes and are going without vital food supplies to try and meet their housing payments. This is a critical time for us to provide a helping hand, and we’re grateful for Delta Dental’s support.” stated Rafael Jimenez, Director of Social Services at Care Resource.
