Biography
Dr. Beatriz Defaus was born in small town in Cuba. Since she was young, her family motivated her to become a dentist and she pursued her dream until it became a reality. She graduated from Dental School at University of Havana in 1994, obtaining her Doctor in Dental Surgery Degree (DDS).
After graduating, Dr. Defaus worked for 9 years as a general dentist serving rural communities and public health centers. In 2007 she graduated as a second-degree specialist in Prosthodontics. She has also completed a fellowship in maxillofacial surgery and obtained a master’s degree in homeopathy and acupuncture.
After immigrating to the United States in 2013, she worked as a dental assistant for 4 years, until 2017, when she was accepted to the University of Miami School of Medicine to complete 2 years of General practice residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital, serving a diverse population and treating medically compromised patients.
Upon graduation and receiving her DDS license, she worked in private practice furthering her experience in cosmetic dentistry, endodontics and implant dentistry. Dr. Defaus also worked as Medical Clinical Director at Aspen Dental.
Dr. Defaus loves her profession and utilizing her knowledge and experience to help people get their smiles back. Outside of the office, Dr. Defaus enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.
