Biography
Angel Perez is the Behavioral Health Community Specialist at Care Resource’s Midtown Miami health center, where she is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. With a heart for service, Angel collaborates with various organizations across South Florida to bring vital resources and support to those in need.
As a Certified Event Interventionist, she brings targeted care to individuals facing social disparities, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders. With over 17 years of experience supporting individuals living with HIV and other health-related challenges, Angel’s background in paralegal studies with a focus on personal injury adds a unique perspective to her work.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Angel’s personal experiences with mental health care and substance abuse recovery make her a compassionate and invaluable asset to the communities she serves. Trained as a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) and in Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP), Angel is committed to helping others on their path to wellness and recovery.
Her passion for giving back extends beyond her professional role. She volunteers with organizations such as the Food For Life food pantry, Miami Jewish Health System’s “Pace Program,” and others. Angel has also served as a consultant on various boards, providing guidance and leadership to programs that promote positive change.
Inspired by her family, particularly her father, Martin D. Perez, and her brother, Jorge Perez, Angel believes deeply in the power of perseverance and the importance of community.
As she says, “Everything in front of you has already been thought of. Who you see today you already ‘thought of.’ You did not know it would be today. But here you are.” Angel’s story is one of resilience, hope, and the unwavering belief that together, we can create a brighter future for all.
