Influenza, or the flu, is a respiratory illness caused by a virus. The flu is highly contagious and is normally spread through the coughs and sneezes of an infected person. Individuals can also catch flu by touching an infected person, for instance, shaking hands. One can spread the influenza virus before they know they are infected.

Flu season is here and this is your time to protect yourself and your loved ones. A patient with the flu may have high fevers, malaise, body aches, and may or may not have a cough and nasal symptoms. Though many people can recover from the flu with no problem, many others can fall severely ill and even die. Children, pregnant women, elderly patients and people with a depressed immune system are at increased risk for developing severe disease. It is important to get the vaccine. Vaccination protects you and others. If you have any questions, talk to your Care Resource Physician. We are here to help.

Care Resource offers the flu vaccination to enrolled patients, insured and uninsured.  (Fees vary accordingly)
