Biography
Ms. Joseph is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who completed a Master’s Degree in mental health counseling from St. Thomas University. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology from Florida University. She is fluent in both English and Haitian Creole.
Before transitioning to the Behavioral Health Department, she worked in the RW program as a medical case manager at the agency for over 8 years. Through the RW program, Ms. Joseph gained tremendous experience in working with newly diagnosed and lost to care for HIV/ AIDS clients and the LGBTQA+ community. She is proficient with community resources and linkage services. She has experience working in multiple program settings and with diverse populations.
Before joining the Care Resource, Ms. Joseph provided mental health and group services to the forensic, psychiatric population. She provided mental health, supportive, and other services to at-risk youth and their families. She provided services to clients with severe and persistent psychiatric disabilities (schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and major depression) and co-occurring substance abuse disorders.
Mucanie completed her internship for her Masters providing psychological care services to children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Her experience includes working with individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety, anger management, stress management, self-esteem issues, grief/bereavement, and substance abuse issues.
According to Ms. Joseph, “My main goal in joining Care Resource is to continue assisting the community and helping make a difference in people’s lives. We all have the power to help change our environment by helping one person at a time”.
