What sets the Care Resource team of providers and staff apart is that they take health care far beyond its usual definition. The health center provides comprehensive preventive services and screenings, and a range of social support services to address the needs of our pediatric, adolescent and adult populations with approaches that view patients as whole people. Our team looks at under-served areas and see where they are needed most. The power of our health center is driven by the strength of our team. VOTE AIDS WALK MIAMI FOR FAVORITE 1- DAY FUNDRAISING EVENT
In 2017, the health center presented the 29th Annual AIDS Walk Miami at SoundScape Park. This important yearly fundraiser helps Care Resource increase healthcare access, perform HIV and STI screenings; extend dental and behavioral health services and help Food-for-Life Network deliver meals to home-bound patients. After the walk,there was a community health fair with pet adoptions, free wellness screenings, HIV testing, carnival games, giveaways, dozens of booths with information about available medical and support resources and more.
VOTE WHITE PARTY WEEK AS FAVORITE FUNDRAISING EVENT – WEEKEND OR LONGER?
White Party Week was again an important fundraiser for Care Resource and an important awareness tool for communicating the message of HIV testing, prevention and treatment. In 2016, America’s Got Talent finalist Brian Justin Crum headlined the 32nd Annual White Party, held under the stars on 12th Street Beach with music by DJ Derek Monteiro. Ben Baker and Joe Gauthreaux also entertained visitors at Muscle Beach and more.
