Curtis Barnes, DMD, Dental Director

Biography

Dr. Barnes was born and raised in rural Northeastern Pennsylvania. He received his B.A. from Ithaca College (1982), his M.S. from the University of Florida (1986), his M.B.A. from New York University Stern School (1988), and his D.M.D. from the University of Florida College of Dentistry (1994).

Dr. Barnes has practiced dentistry in South Florida for 19 years and during all those years has always been involved in providing quality dental care to HIV/AIDS clients. The first 15 years of his career, he was employed by the Broward County Health Department, and provided dental services for children of low income families and children and adults living with HIV and AIDS. At the Department of Health he was director of HIV dental services and was responsible for patient care and daily operations of four facilities (Paul Hughes Clinic, Northwest Clinic, Memorial Hospital Outpatient Clinic and Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center). Prior to coming to Care Resource, Dr. Barnes was employed by Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, where he was an assistant professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and clinical director of the Nova/Oakland Park Dental Clinic; a clinic devoted specifically to the dental needs of HIV/AIDS patients residing in Broward County Florida.

Dr. Barnes dental life has been devoted to serving the underprivileged and medically compromised which he greatly enjoys, and he looks forward to providing this same high level of care and devotion to the clients of Care Resource.
