Enchanted Place Homeowner’s Association Supports Care Resource Health Services

Enchanted Place Homeowners

An Association Committed to supporting Care Resource’s Programs and Health Services

In 2014, the Enchanted Place Homeowner’s Association continued to show their holiday spirit with Holiday Lights benefiting Care Resource.

From December 12th – December 30th, South Floridians had the unique opportunity to experience the magic of the holidays by visiting Holiday Lights at Enchanted Place, drive by the beautifully decorated homes and see the breathtaking light displays created by this spirited neighborhood.

According to Russell Corbett, Care Resource Board Chair, “We’re in our 25th year.  I love Christmas and I am just an overgrown kid when it comes to decorations and preparations. The lights display and the fact that almost everyone participates are two of the reasons we moved onto Enchanted Place. The first year we lived here, 1992, one of the neighbors suggested at our home owners meeting that we ask a charity if they wanted to come and accept donations and another neighbor who knew I was on the Board of then Health Crisis Network suggested we ask that agency as there was a Board member living on the street. We were all very surprised at how well it went and how much this event has raised for the agency in the years since. There’s a certain amount of friendly competition between some of us… to do something different each year, to add something new, to out-do each other. A great deal of time is spent hanging out in each others driveways & visiting during the month. It’s a real community thing.”

This year, $6, 230 was raised by the Enchanted Place Homeowner’s Association. These needed funds go right into programs and services and help expand Care Resource’s model of excellence to include not only those with HIV, but all of South Florida’s diverse communities.

At their meeting on March 2, 2015, The Enchanted Place Homeowner’s Association was honored for their commitment to supporting the educational programs and services of Care Resource and in raising both needed awareness and funds to combat the effects of HIV/AIDS in South Florida.

Care Resource is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive primary medical and preventive care, including health, oral and mental health/substance abuse services to all individuals in our community.
