Care Resource celebrates National Health Center Week

Each year the second week in August is dedicated to celebrating the services and contributions of Community, Migrant, Homeless and Public Housing Health Centers.

While there are countless reasons to celebrate America’s Health Centers, among the most important and unique is their long success in providing access to affordable, high quality, cost effective health care to medically vulnerable and underserved people throughout the United States.

For Nutrition month and for National Health Center Week, the community is encouraged to attend a special “lunch and learn” seminar about “Healthy Eating on a Budget” from Alina Zhukovskaya, with DeliverLean. It’s the mission of DeliverLean to spread health and wellness so one can LIVE BETTER.

While there, one can also receive BMI (body mass index) testing from Rigoberto Ng, Care Resource’s nutritionist who has twenty-two years of experience in the management and provision of food and clinical nutrition services in the healthcare industry.

This session provides a time during the summer to take a closer look at the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. Yes, healthy eating and routine exercise are needed all year round; but many of us need a friendly reminder to get ourselves back on track.

This special session will occur on August 14, 2014 from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Care Resource’s Miami office and from 6:00pm-7:00pm at Care Resource’s Fort Lauderdale office. This month, make an appointment for free BMI testing with Care Resource!

Please dial 305-576-1234. Extension 470 (English) and 471 (Spanish). It is strongly encouraged that an appointment be made.
